2010
Hello Year 8!
I have been receiving a few emails re: the first day back this year. You return to school on Friday, 29th January. Please be organised!
This year, you will hear the teachers talk a great deal about being prepared for learning and life. The school will be asking you to think about: sleep, food and water.
What?
It is absolutely essential, if you are to be ready for learning and life, that you:
- eat a proper breakfast
- drink at least a litre of water a day (not including other beverages)
- sleep for 10 hours a night
If you eat, sleep and drink in the way recommended above, you will feel great, learn successfully and less likely to be trouble with adults and peers as you are not cranky or below par. This is important, very important!
Another matter. How are you pronouncing 2010? Are you saying ‘twenty-ten’ or ‘two thousand and ten’? Post a comment at the blog and tell us all how you say it!
Have a great 2010 and to enable you to ‘strive for higher things’, make sure you have slept, had a 1 litre of water a day and a good breakfast!
Good luck, Year 8!

Hi to all Students, Teachers and Parents. My name is Wayne Goldsmith and I am down in Melbourne today working at the Australian Open Tennis.
Working with some of Australia’s best athletes in several sports, I thought I would share my top ten tips to help you become all you can be and realise your potential:
1. Be yourself. The key to success is being unique, being different and above all being yourself.
2. Find out what you love doing and then do it well. Doing what you love doing helps you to get through the tough times.
3. Believe in yourself. You can do anything.
4. Be passionate and enthusiastic. Energy, enthusiasm and excitement is critical.
5. Dream – it all starts with your dreams. Then talk – turn your dreams into words. Then…and the most important part….turns your words into actions. Just do it.
6. Get other people excited. There is nothing better than working with a team of people as passionate about your success as you are.
7. Never, ever give up. Everyone faces disappointment and challenges – just never give in to it.
8. Create new ideas and new ways of doing things – the world needs new ideas and yours may just be the ones that change everything for the better.
9. Family and friends are like precious jewels: treasure them.
10. Enjoy every minute of your life – every day is what you make it.
I wish all success this year – and BYBY – BE YOURSELF / BACK YOURSELF.

Posted 2 years, 1 month agoI was just wondering what books we need to take on the 1st day back? Last year I took all my books and we didn’t use any of them. I was just going to take my notepad. Is that ok? Thanks
Posted 2 years, 1 month agoHi Laura,
Yes, a pad would be fine!
